TV Appearance: Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi from Our Collection Featured on “Sandwichman & Ashida Mana no Hakase-chan”

We lent a katana signed by the first-generation Hizen no Kuni Tadayoshi, bearing the rare five-character signature and designated as Juyo Token, to the nationally broadcast TV program “Sandwichman & Mana Ashida’s Hakase-chan”, which aired on TV Asahi on December 7, 2024.

This popular TV program is hosted by the comedy duo Sandwichman and actress Mana Ashida. In this episode, they were joined by guest actress Yuki Uchida and actor Masanobu Katsumura, as well as Keita Yuketsuna, a junior high school student and passionate young expert on Japanese swords.

In a segment of the show, the participants took on a challenge to identify the genuine Hizen Tadayoshi katana from among three swords, two of which were replicas.
