肥前国保則刀匠の本名は元村保廣、佐賀県住。昭和24年生まれ。保則、肥前国保則と銘を切ります。昭和44年12月に作刀認可を得て以来、新作名刀展で連続入選を果し、他の入賞暦も多数。系列は八代肥前国忠吉を祖とし、初代武藤信濃守久廣、二代武藤久廣、初代元村兼元（父）、そして本人、元村保廣（肥前国保則）というものです。切れ味優れると評判高い由緒正しき刀匠となります。剣士の間で高い人気を誇っており、本刀も手にしてその人気を納得できる御刀です。
