小林吉永刀匠は鳥取県の靖国刀匠で有名な金崎助寿刀匠の内弟子です。本名小林義良。新作刀展に於いて多数の受賞を果たした実力派現代刀工です。全日本刀匠会会員で鳥取県米子市にて鍛錬されていました。本作は、昭和５２年に鍛刀された注文打の一振です。きめ細かに練り上げられた精美な地鉄に、匂口明るく冴えた互ノ目丁子乱れを巧みに焼いた吉永刀匠の力作です。同氏が打った刀の中でも傑作刀と称するに値する出来栄えでとても華やかな作品です。バリっとして鑑賞刀にも良し、また上段者の居合刀としてもお薦めの魅力いっぱいの逸品です。黒呂塗鞘打刀拵入、銀無垢一重はばき。
